ぼくたちが気になるロンドンのこと” (我們感興趣的倫敦情報)
最近，或許是因為越來越多人選擇到倫敦留學，編集部收到許多來自倫敦的情報。例如，聽說品牌SONO和Conkers很受歡迎、「WASTE!」這樣融合滑板和次文化的店鋪如雨後春筍般登場，年輕人對南倫敦的爵士樂社區和受日本爵士喫茶店影響的Music Bar非常狂熱。仔細想想，《Popeye》創刊號原本可以以倫敦而非加州為題 — 如果真是那樣，很好奇我們現在會穿甚麼衣服，又會跟隨怎樣的文化呢？今號，我們決定時隔許久再次前往倫敦。
 
“This is London”
Perhaps because more people are studying abroad in London these days, our editorial department is frequently receiving news from there. We hear about popular brands like SONO and Conkers, the successive opening of new shops like "WASTE!" — which blends skate culture with other subcultures — and the way young people are going wild for the South London jazz scene and music bars inspired by Japanese jazz cafes. Come to think of it, the inaugural issue of Popeye could easily have featured London instead of California. If that had happened, I wonder what kind of clothes we’d be wearing and what sort of culture we’d be following today? I’ve decided to head to London for this issue — it’s been a while.
