“和風モダンを学ぶ” (現代和風見學)

“Japanese Modern”
There is a mysterious sense of comfort and longing in Japanese architecture and design. Perhaps this feeling is deeply ingrained in the DNA of the Japanese people and has been passed down through the generations. Yusaku Maezawa, a famous art and furniture collector, has long been involved in the renovation of the Japanese house and garden at Chisui-an, one of Kyoto's historic villa gardens. The architecture has been transformed into a modern space, with private spaces such as the bathroom and bedrooms, and vintage furniture, antiques, and modern art placed throughout, while Japanese details such as transoms, shoji screens, sliding doors, and handles have been updated to modern styles. The garden has been renovated while making use of its existing qualities, resulting in a truly modern, refined space. Through these details, we will explain the somewhat difficult Japanese modern style in an easy-to-understand way!
