“Hideaki Anno's New Era Hero
Thorough Research on Shin Kamen Rider”
With the theme of "progress and harmony for mankind" the Osaka Expo 2025 raised expectations for the future. Behind the whirlpool of enthusiasm, a certain TV program was being planned. Shotaro Ishinomori, who is known for his hits such as the manga Cyborg 009, created a life-sized hero with a grasshopper motif, Kamen Rider. When broadcasting began in April 1971, it sparked a "transformation boom." Half a century later, "When the time comes, Kamen Rider will surely revive." As the original author Ishinomori left behind, a new era of heroes has descended into the world. In this issue, in conjunction with the release of the movie "Shin Kamen Rider", while looking back on the early TV series and the achievements of Shotaro Ishinomori, we will also introduce the creators such as director Hideaki Anno, as well as the designs of Kamen Rider and Cyclone.
